How many yards of fur do I need for a full fursuit?
Depending on the type and style, I usually get 2 yards. one is usually more than enough, but depending on pattern, grain and fur style, it may take more. With different patterns of fur and the direction it lays, I've had to use two yards in order to find the right pattern and fur direction matching amongst the pieces.
At the very least, I suggest 2.5 yards for a partial. I do not recommend making a full suit on your first try. Now that the fur is bought, it's on to the next materials.
You need at least 3 by 3 feet (0.91 by 0.91 m) of fursuit fabric to create your paws. If you're also making feet paws, double the amount of fursuit fabric that you buy.
Keep in mind that 1/4 yard of fur will give you enough to make ears and tail!
